Beck Wheeler is an award-winning illustrator and author of children's books. She has been writing for as long as she can remember, and penned her first children's book while still at school. By the age of eighteen, she had written her first book, How Absurd, which was later published by Lothian Books. Beck was born in Germany and grew up on the Auckland's North Shore. She is currently based in Piha, West Auckland.
